Battle Spam with KONTXT!
Spammers are notorious for always finding new ways to target their victims. Whether spammers want to get your data or money (or both!), KONTXT is created to stop them. With our KONTXT for SMS and KONTXT for MMS offerings, we leverage Data Science to analyse and classify messages, both inline (realtime) and offline (bulk streaming).
Our Machine Learning approach leverages NLP to allow our customers to have incredibly granular insights into scammers’ approaches and related information, such as numbers used, routes, traffic and volumes, their target audiences selected, as well as type of spam. KONTXT classifies all of the information and detailed analytics allow our customers to have insight into all traffic, whether that traffic is A2P, P2P or downright spam.
Not only is KONTXT able to perform all these activities at massive scale on SMS text (KONTXT easily handles half a billion messages daily), but also on images contained in these messages. Leveraging advanced character recognition techniques and machine learning, KONTXT detects MMS messages that attempt to use images to bypass the standard spam filters. There are no other solutions offering this type of spam detection, KONTXT for MMS has recently been released and is in use by some of the largest operators globally.
A newly introduced feature in our solutions is KONTXT Jail. Spammers are creative and one approach to bypass detection by Machine Learning models and policies is to slightly alter the text of the spam / smishing messages sent. However, with KONTXT Jail, we can create rules for suspect routes such that when an MDN (Mobile Device Number) exceeds or reaches a threshold of spam messages within a rolling time window, the MDN is put in jail for a period of time. Both threshold as well as jail time can be defined by our customers. Once the jail time is over (and during time served) our customers can define appropriate action on the MDN, i.e., keep in blacklist and block or alternative actions.
