Some moments in life feel like divine tests—challenges sent to remind us of the fragility of existence and the power of hope. When Pallavi brought her 28-day-old baby girl to us, I felt an overwhelming weight of responsibility. This wasn’t just another case; this was a battle for a life that had barely begun.
The diagnosis was devastating: fibrosarcoma, a rare and aggressive tumor. At just 28 days old, this baby had been thrust into a fight far too big for her tiny frame. The tumor was enormous—11.3 cm by 9.8 cm—taking up space in her small body and threatening her life. The cost of saving her was immense—?22-25 lakhs. But how could we place a price on a life so precious?
Step by Step: A Journey of Courage
We began with an embolization procedure to cut off the tumor’s blood supply—a crucial first step. The following day, after hours of meticulous planning, we embarked on a 7-8 hour surgery. Every second in that operating room was a silent prayer, every decision a leap of faith.
The tumor was removed, but the journey didn’t end there. On Day 3, we carefully reviewed her wound, ensuring her body was responding well. On Day 4, we used a vascular flap from her thigh to reconstruct the surgical site. Her body, though fragile, showed incredible resilience.
This baby girl, just a month old, displayed a strength that left us humbled. She fought through the odds with a quiet determination, her tiny hands gripping onto life with a power that seemed almost otherworldly.
Hope Amidst Challenges
After the surgery, she was moved to the ICU for round-the-clock care. Her hemoglobin was low, and we consulted pediatricians and anesthetists to ensure every decision was tailored to her needs. We initiated targeted therapy with entrectinib to tackle any remaining cancer cells—a step toward ensuring her battle wasn’t fought in vain.

Today, as I watch her tiny chest rise and fall, I’m reminded of the extraordinary teamwork, the prayers, and the support that brought her to this point. She is stable now, out of the ICU, and being closely monitored.
A Call for Compassion
This journey wouldn’t have been possible without the outpouring of support from so many kind souls. To everyone who contributed financially or stood by Pallavi with prayers and encouragement—your kindness has saved a life.
But her story isn’t over. Recovery will take time, and the road ahead is uncertain. Yet, in her tiny frame, I see a warrior, a beacon of hope. She is living proof of what we can achieve when we come together to protect the most vulnerable among us.
A Life Worth Fighting For
This isn’t just a story of surgery or medicine. It’s a story of love, resilience, and the boundless possibilities of hope. This baby girl reminds us all why we do what we do—to save lives, to restore hope, and to witness miracles.
To everyone who supported her journey, you are part of this miracle. And to Pallavi’s baby, you are the reason we keep fighting, even when the odds seem insurmountable. You are, and always will be, our little warrior.
