Today I asked numerous people what GPT stands for…. No one really knew unless they googled it. It stands for "Generative Pre-training Transformer." It is the name of the model architecture that it was trained on. Generative models are a type of machine learning model that are capable of generating new data, such as text, images, or speech. The funny thing is that everyone was talking about it, but no one really knew what it stood for and, really, no one really cares as long as it does what it is supposed to do.
On the other hand, I do care and I geek-out on stuff like this and acronyms are desert for me. (I’m a military girl what can I say) As such let me share with you about the new kid on the block, Googles LaMDA, rumor has it, it will be ChatGPT’s competition, and it could launch as early as tomorrow February 8th, 2023.
The rivalry between ChatGPT and LaMDA is one of the most exciting developments in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), and it has the potential to revolutionize how entrepreneurs interact with their customers and develop their businesses.
