Battle between Lighting versus switchs

A war that has lasted for years between lighting manufacturers and lighting control manufacturers. Until now, when the control was done by mechanical means and the lighting was incandescent or flourishing, the boundaries between both were well defined. Neither dared to enter the territory of the other and vice versa, and whenever that happened, things went wrong, with losses for everyone, including those who were left with a job poorly done.

Today, with new technologies, LEDs, building automation, networked systems, communication and command protocols, things are no longer black and white, of everything or nothing, but of various colors and with many variables.

In terms of lighting, following the latest LED, OLED technologies and various data communication protocols, manufacturers test network solutions, with or without wires, systems for varying light intensity, lighting control, including measurement and control of other building systems, such as air quality or even the internet itself.

The manufacturers of lighting control systems also expand their offerings with more sophisticated and comprehensive solutions, also penetrating the field of lighting, with network solutions, based on the various existing communication protocols, to also ensure more efficiency and better comfort.

Although both are aware of what their core business is, neither wants to give up a future, where both are betting very hard, the new era in building automation.

Everyone wants to lead the IOT, AI and 5G process, everything will be inextricably interconnected, and both manufacturers of lighting and lighting control, want and fight for protagonism and leadership in this process.

It remains to be seen who has the best resources and who the consumer will trust the most, or if at the end of the day, there will always be room for both.

I know that from the experience I had on both sides of the barrier, I will do it to ensure that through my experience, that my customers will always have the best lighting control system available, not only because the equipment is excellent, but because we on the ground really know what we are doing.

Uma guerra que dura à anos entre fabricantes de ilumina??o e os fabricantes de controlo da ilumina??o. Até aqui, quando o controlo era feito por meios mecanicos e a ilumina??o era incandescente ou florescente, as fronteiras entre ambos estava bem definida. Nenhum ousava em entrar no território do outro e vice-versa, e sempre que isso ocorria, as coisas corriam mal, com prejuízos para todos, inclusive para quem ficava com uma obra mal feita.

Hoje, com as novas tecnologias, LED, automa??o de edifícios, sistemas em rede, protocolos de comunica??o e comando, as coisas deixaram de ser a preto e branco, de tudo ou nada, mas de várias cores e com imensas variáveis.

Da parte da ilumina??o, a reboque das últimas tecnologias LED, Oled e dos diversos protocolos de comunica??o de dados, os fabricantes testam solu??es em rede, com ou sem fios, sistemas de varia??o da intensidade da luz, controlo da ilumina??o, inclusive de aferi??o e controlo de outros sistemas do edifício, como qualidade do ar ou mesmo da própria internet.

Os fabricantes de sistemas de controlo da ilumina??o, ampliam também as suas ofertas com solu??es mais sofisticadas e abrangentes, penetrando também no terreno da ilumina??o, com solu??es de rede, assentes nos vários protocolos existentes de comunica??o, para também pelo seu lado garantirem mais eficiência e um melhor conforto.

Apesar de ambos estarem cientes daquilo que é o seu core-business, nenhum quer abdicar de um futuro, onde ambos est?o a apostar muito forte, a nova era na automa??o de edifícios.

Todos querem liderar o processo das IOT, AI e 5G, todo estará interligado, e ambos fabricantes de ilumina??o e de controlo da ilumina??o, querem e lutam pelo protagonismo e lideran?a neste processo.

Resta saber quem tem mais recursos e em quem o consumidor irá confiar mais, ou se no final do dia, haverá sempre espa?o para os dois.

Sei que pela experiência que tive em ambos os lados da barreira, irei fazer por garantir que através da minha experiencia, que os meus clientes ir?o sempre ter o melhor sistema de controlo da ilumina??o disponível, n?o só porque os equipamentos s?o de excelência, mas porque nós, no terreno, realmente sabemos aquilo que estamos a fazer.
