Charge/discharge power stage
The Charge/Discharge Power Stage is used to protect the battery pack from abnormalities such as over voltage, over current charging/discharging, over temperature and external short-circuit. This can be implemented by using two low voltage FETs, which are controlled by the control unit.

Control & complete protection
This sub-system is responsible for protecting the battery pack. The data that is monitored includes individual cell voltages and pack temperature. Additionally, it also implements an externally exposed communication interface outside of the battery-pack for status monitoring and indication purposes.
