Kester Guy is the Chief Executive Officer of the Trinidad and Tobago Securities and Exchange Commission. Mr. Kester Guy assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the Trinidad and Tobago Securities and Exchange Commission ("TTSEC") on December 1st, 2023. An economist by profession, Mr. Guy brings a wealth of experience in the regulatory landscape of the financial sector.??

His professional journey includes key roles such as CEO and Deputy CEO of the Financial Services Commission Barbados and CEO of the Deposit Insurance Corporation, Barbados. Prior to these executive positions, Mr. Guy served as an Assistant Director at the Research and Economic Analysis Department at the Central Bank of Barbados. Notably, he also held roles as a Senior Economist at the Central Bank of Barbados and as an Economist at the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago and has published several articles in peer reviewed journals on economic and finance matters.??

Mr. Guy holds a solid macroeconomic foundation, having earned a Master of Science in Economics from the University of the West Indies (“UWI”) St. Augustine, and a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Mathematics (First Class Honours) from UWI Cave Hill. His academic qualifications are complemented by years of ongoing professional and executive training.??

In his capacity as CEO of TTSEC, Mr. Guy is expected to leverage his extensive experience in the financial sector to contribute to the regulatory mission of the Commission.?

Jaime Hospedales-Thomas FCCA,CA, BSc Economics (Finance) is the Senior Financial Research Officer, Market Regulation and Surveillance, TTSEC. Mrs. Jaime Thomas is a seasoned professional with over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry. Her expertise spans several key areas, including banking; mutual funds and investment services; trust and fiduciary services; pension and savings plans and small and medium-sized enterprises.??

In her current role at the TTSEC, Mrs. Thomas supervises and conducts inquiries into suspected market misconduct, such as insider trading and market manipulation; reviews investor complaints and prepares comprehensive regulatory reports and provides enforcement and legislative recommendations to enhance securities market regulation and investor protection.??

She is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA); Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Trinidad and Tobago (ICATT) and holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Economics with a Minor in Finance from the University of the West Indies. ?
