Baton Rouge Bound: Elevating Marketing Excellence Through Peer Support

Baton Rouge Bound: Elevating Marketing Excellence Through Peer Support

In 2011, I was approached by the Marketing Director of one of our clients who felt very isolated in her position. Her name was Kristi Fredieu and she was the Marketing Director for a therapy service provider that primarily staffed nursing homes with physical, occupational and speech therapists, while also running their own stand alone clinics.

Kristi expressed the difficulty of being a solo marketing practitioner in her company. She felt like she was on an island when it came to problem solving or sourcing resources for the marketing, PR, design and communications function. Tackling both strategy and execution was a monumental challenge as the sole full-time practitioner. Additionally, she often felt like the rest of the company saw her as a cost center versus a revenue generator and she felt that she continually had to prove value and worth. ?

Kristi came to me and asked “Do you know anyone else like me who would be interested in getting together occasionally to compare notes, discuss issues and challenges and offer support to one another?” I said, “I sure do. What you are describing is being a solo marketer or part of a small marketing team in hundreds of companies that I have worked with over the years.” So it was from a challenge that the Professional Marketing Roundtable Group was formed.?

After successfully mentoring the club in Acadiana for the past 12 years, I have decided to create a group to serve the Baton Rouge market in a similar capacity. Membership to this group is designed to be easy and doesn’t require any heavy lifting or homework, just a commitment to meet once a month over lunch with no more than 13 other marketing professionals to process issues in a confidential setting. It is a chance to build camaraderie with a non-competitive group of vetted professionals to get different perspectives on common challenges in order to move toward effective solutions more quickly.?

Now is the opportunity to join the inaugural Baton Rouge Marketing Roundtable group that begins in January of 2024. Please note membership to this exclusive group is limited. ?
