Bastrop Is Done Wasting Time With Waste Water(we hope).
In November, the Bastrop water treatment plant will enter the testing phase, marking a crucial milestone in its journey towards becoming operational, albeit after a year-long delay.
Situated between the Colorado River and Hwy. 304, south of Griesenbeck Ranch Road, this vital plant has been eagerly awaited.
The contract to oversee the project was awarded to the Austin-based civil engineering firm, KSA, back in October 2018. Construction work on this significant undertaking commenced in the spring of 2021.
KSA stands at the forefront of the industry, boasting a well-established reputation in civil engineering, planning, and architectural design. Since its establishment in 1978, KSA has consistently delivered a comprehensive array of services, including consulting, management, engineering, architecture, planning, surveying, and construction, to clients throughout the south-central United States.
Though the plant's ultimate capacity is designed to reach an impressive 10 million gallons per day, Phase 1 will initially yield a capacity of 2 million gallons per day. This capacity expansion aims to address the growing needs of Bastrop, as the city continues to experience planned developments that will place greater demands on its water resources.
The wastewater treatment plant is slated for discussion at an upcoming executive council meeting scheduled for November 7, keeping the community well-informed about its progress.
