Bassar Group Reveals 33-Storey Broadbeach Highrise

Plans for a 33-storey highrise have been revealed for Broadbeach as older apartment blocks make way for high-density developments across the Glitter Strip enclave.
Bassar Group, developers of the Infinity tower on Surf Parade that completed in 2023, filed the plans with the City of Gold Coast Council late last month.
The residential tower designed by BDA Architecture comprises 56 apartments and a pool, dining area, gym and wellness spaces above the podium, as well as 107 basement-level carparks.
The highrise would replace the two-storey Max Mar apartment block of eight units on the site at 19-21 Anne Avenue.
The median apartment price in the area is $920,000, according to REA Group data, up 6.4 per cent across the year to February.
The developer acquired the U-shaped apartment block on the 1032sq m site in November last year for an undisclosed price.
Each of the apartments within the tower would be interchangeable between short-term accommodation or multiple dwelling to “allow for flexibility for the future owners”.
The proposal is the latest in a growing list of developments in the planning or construction stages in this section of the Coast.
Nearby, Amalgamated Property Group and Base Developments are ready to begin construction on their second Gold Coast residential tower, Affinity Broadbeach.
The DBI-designed scheme comprises a 39-storey tower of 185 apartments, heated pool and fitness studio on the site at 40-46 Chelsea Avenue.
This scheme replaced plans for the site by Gold Coast developer Raptis, which was planning to build a 36-storey tower with a four-storey podium on a portion of the same site.
Meanwhile at 14 Chelsea Avenue, fellow Gold Coast developer Barry Morris is planning the company’s 10th highrise residential project for the locale.
Morris Property Group filed plans for a slender 25-storey tower with 22 apartments on the 607 sq m site in April of 2024. The proposal was approved in September.
