Basics of Plastic Injection Mould

The following picture presents a typical mould structure. We can have a first understanding what kinds of parts would be in a mould.

As shown above, an injection mould have a lot components. Usually, we can divide them into eight parts, each having its own function that contribute to the whole tooling

After we know about the major parts that consist a mould, the material or steel type of these parts is also an important factor need to be considered.

The material of the parts is directly related to the quality and life of the mould. It determines the appearance and internal quality of the molded plastic products. Next, we can have a quick view of some typical steel materials used for different die parts. And the heat treatment can vary according to different mould requests.
