Basic Features of a Programmable Relay
Electrical and Control Systems
Electrical, Process Measurement and Control
A programmable relay is typically a small device that includes several inputs and outputs providing relay, timer and counter functions in a single unit. Programmable relays usually include a small amount of I/O; however some include over 20 discrete inputs and outputs, in addition up to eight analog inputs and eight analog outputs.
Most programmable relays include a built-in LCD display, such as 6 lines and 20 characters per line, to display the program, variables and configuration. We also have the function keys and buttons on the front face of the relay for navigation, entering and editing the program and parameters; starting and configuring the device.

Programmable relays are employed in small to medium size industrial automation applications where they can be used as small controllers that can automate functions such simple sequences based on time or events, time-delays, counters and relay logic. They provide simple installation, minimal wiring and user-friendly programming.
