Basic different between by the concept of Ethical hacking and Cyber security.

Ethical hacking and cybersecurity are closely related fields but have different focuses and objectives.

1. Ethical Hacking:

  • Ethical hacking involves authorized attempts to bypass security mechanisms in place to identify vulnerabilities in a system or network.
  • Ethical hackers, also known as white-hat hackers, use their skills to simulate attacks that malicious hackers might employ to gain unauthorized access to systems.
  • The goal of ethical hacking is to uncover weaknesses in security defenses so they can be addressed before malicious hackers exploit them.
  • Ethical hackers adhere to strict ethical guidelines and obtain permission from the owners of the systems they are testing before conducting any assessments.
  • Ethical hacking often involves penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and other techniques to assess the security posture of an organization.

2. Cybersecurity:

  • Cybersecurity encompasses a broader range of practices and measures aimed at protecting systems, networks, and data from unauthorized access, attacks, damage, or theft.
  • It involves the implementation of various security technologies, policies, procedures, and best practices to safeguard digital assets.
  • Cybersecurity professionals work to prevent, detect, and respond to security threats, including malware, phishing attacks, data breaches, and other cyber threats.
  • Cybersecurity encompasses areas such as network security, endpoint security, application security, data security, and cloud security.
  • It also involves risk management, compliance with regulations and standards, incident response, and security awareness training for employees.
