Barry Had No EGO!

I am sure we have all been around people who proudly display their ego. Perhaps they think their “big” accomplishments deserve recognition? However, I think the best way to challenge that is “big” accomplishments often gain traction. I would go a step further and state that even the little ones have a place for visibility. The point, anything you do today is being watched on the web…..in a picture etc. You don’t have to go far to get “visible” recognition. However, it does take energy to self-promote your accomplishments. It also takes a lot of insecurity to feel you need to tell everyone what you have done. Truth, we all want to get noticed, but don’t the best things you do find a way to come out to those around you? Don’t the most significant things you do make you personally feel satisfaction. At the end of the day who are you really satisfying? YOU! Affirmation does not have to come from praise……or a group of people cheering you on. Be proud of the things you do that you did because you simply wanted to do them.

Barry Sanders was an exceptional NFL player. Perhaps one of the best I can remember watching during the season. He never gloated……fist pumped……felt he needed anyone to high five his hands of strength. Barry Sanders played the game….did the best he could…..showed little emotion…..then did it again and again many times. Even better, he was achieving and not looking for any kind of recognition. At times it seemed like he didn’t realize what he had done on the field. He was a stellar player who left ego at the door his entire career.

We can all achieve big things, but when we do how do we behave. Barry Sanders sets an example to follow for anyone who achieves. Behave.
