Barrier or Door?

How do you work with the perceived barriers in your life?? Many of us RAIL against them or beat ourselves up for not planning better.? Anything in this response category is really not very helpful.

Many wise spiritual masters and great philosophical thinkers have recognized the importance of barriers to the process of creative thinking and personal growth.? I can't speak for anyone else, but I can be kind of lazy about exploring new ideas if I am not forced out of my comfort zone.

Barriers as a gift can really sound like a hokey new-age concept, but let's really take a look at this.?

FEAR.? We all experience it and will continue to.? It is one of our core survival emotions and one that we need.? All of us understand that fear, like everything else, is a perception? It is good to have fear to keep us from walking out in front of a bus.? This practical fear is really useful.? So what about our impractical fears?? We all have those too!

These are the sensations we experience when we feel challenged which can, many times, feel threatening.? This danger signal lets you know that something is up and it generates a lot of energy.? Ancient medical systems consider fear to be an activator.? In other words, the energy to get you moving.

What if we could learn to acknowledge our energy of fear when it arises and do something useful to begin to overcome whatever barrier or challenge that is in our path?? Or even do something as simple as walk through a different door??? Doesn't that sound better?!
