Barcelona in Red and Gold
Zsuzsanna Kelenné Pataki
Fine Artist, Curator, Educator, Impressionist colour maniac with a knife. Creating bespoke art: you have a project in mind? Let's have a chat!
Barcelona is indeed an unfinished article, if you have ever visited you know what I mean. Here I dwell on its history of magnificence, bloodshed and pyres, pretty flesh and savage darkness against a vast backdrop of raw, dazzling canvas: the medieval district.
The powers that made and held together these cities are not unlike today's marketing industry. The political structures used powerful visuals to hammer in their message; billboards of both saints and mighty sinners; regular marketing campaigns well scheduled around the calendar year; special deals just today just for you; live demos of what happens if you don't go with the flow, stories carved in stone at every corner to teach you what, and what not, to do.
Thought provoking and tickling all your senses with colors and metallic layers, this exhibition will discover History at its most fluid and colorful.
More to come for the exhibition 'European Port Cities' at Ripley Arts Centre, October 7-30
