"Tip For Success - Know your field. Its an important thing is to know what you are going to do: Being an expert in what you want to do it can be very simple, like being an Artist. Doing Screen prints on T-Shirts. Pick something that you know something about. Have knowledge of how to develop a viable Business Model. Start Small. Do everything Beautifully and have the right people around you and that make sense of what you do to generate Money. Because you can't sustain a Business that doesn't make Money."
??
"Personal appearance and attire is very important for a model. The purpose of Rules and Regulations are NOT to Restrict the rights of any one BUT to define them and protect the rights of ALL.?
"Attendance and Punctuality is expected of each one. Everyone must arrive on Schedule and on time: If someone cannot arrive on time please notify us immediately. Call in and explain about your situation which is the right thing to do. A Model must show Physical Conduct to Relatives, Friends, Associates and all most anyone. A Model must not be intimidating or Hostile or offensive. You must conduct yourselves, responsible in an appropriate manner in all environment at all times and you are to be very confidence in all circumstances in what you say, and do."?

The following is the exact words from - "Women's Journal" Interview In New York printed in Fashion Section of Newspaper ..
There are any number of women who attend physical fitness class, more because they too appear trim rather that for health reason. One big disadvantage with being oversize is that it becomes very hard to find the right fit. Many dressmakers and fashion designers shun the fat person. The models which they produce for whatever collections is always designed around the small trim neat figure. But Barbara Morris is not such a designer. It is part of her professional philosophy that a design properly executed can enhance obesity as well as the trim.
Barbara is a native of Jamaica.?She is a city girl who grew up in the tradition of textile and scissors. Her grandmother, who sewed professionally, and with whom she grew, always had plenty of ends for her to practice on. At age seven she had passed the stage of removing basting threads from completed garments and was able to make meaningful contribution to jobs which Grandmother turned out.
After completing her formal education in Jamaica, Barbara decided that dress designing was the only profession for her. She made inquires and soon determined that she could attend the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. And there she went.
Barbara graduated in 1969. She spent the next three years gathering practical experience and acquainting herself with mass-production techniques. It was her plan to return to her native Jamaica to practice the art which she found so dear and which she hoped to use to contribute to her country. But her dream was short-lived. Along came the oil crisis, sky-rocketing prices, the ban on the importation of textiles, the decrease in employment and soon other was hardly anything to sew with and few people who could afford to purchase the models she turned out.
Realizing that a true artist can only exist in an environment in which one at least has materials, Barbara was left no alternative but to return to New York. She has been back for some time now and is hard at work on her chosen career.
Barbara is an artist. "I recognize fashion designing as a true art form just like any other art. Traditionally fashions have served to emphasize every period of history. Some people think that fashion designing is a mechanical process. But having materials, threads and a sharp pair of scissors are not enough to clothe the physique. One must have the feeling, the flair, the creativity. Many people do not like to work for those on the heavy side. They feel that they are hard to fit. My view is that if a designer knows what he or she is doing, they can make a fat person look as attractive as a slender subject."
Barbara is not shy about presenting her creations. She has had shows all over New York. Locations have included the International Club, The Oasis, Hopeful Village, The Midwood Terrace, the Ozone Layer, Midnight Blue and several others.
"I must confess that I get a wonderful feeling from seeing people admire my creations. I am happy to hear the ohs and ahs of delight s people view my work," Barbara says. And after receiving these compliments she relaxes on the tennis court, cooking or dancing. She loves making new friends and associating with people whom she may find good subjects for her second love - astrology.
