Did you know that Apple's pledge to give iMessage RCS support is already being seen in the wild? As of the beta release of iOS 18, folks are able to leverage RCS! Several months will go by before RCS begins to be seen widely, but how great would it be to have your clients ready for the transition to Rich Content on both Android and Apple in 2024 or early '25? Google Maps on iPhone now displays speed (A feature Android users have had for some time). I’d be interested to learn whether as a by product of this feature it is storing this data in iOS or its just outputting real-time calculations. If data is stored differently as a consequence of this new feature in iOS I’d be interested to learn if anybody has carried out or planned to do any testing. I am familiar with the limitations of GNSS speed derived data and this screenshot is from a journey I was on as a passenger so could see the variations between displayed speed and actual speed of the vehicle. I’m just curious as to whether it changes anything when some of my network is in the weeds of future iOS extractions now it’s been rollled out globally. This will no doubt be a question in future investigations for various so putting it out early (ish)!

He said so while acknowledging the fact that the biggest competitors in the industry still enable easier switching to its competitors. Also probably having an assumption that the biggest competitors strongly believe the fact that users will come back to us. I slowly realized that the team has been working on a thoughtful strategy on where to compete and where not to. About strategy, Do you know about the recent strategic move by Grammarly They decided NOT to compete with mobile phone keyboards anymore which clearly makes sense to me now. Grammarly is not available on Android as a keyboard anymore but rather it's now a widget that's compatible with all the Android phone keyboards as a widget & I can grammar check from any keyboard I am using on my phone. Realizing that Grammarly doesn't need to compete with the other keyboards, Grammarly has probably reached a few levels higher in the value chain. #StrategyLessonFromMyExperiences

Developers argue that the limited browser information compromises user decisions. And why the prompt only when Safari is launched? Comparatively, Google prompts Android users to choose a default browser during setup- an approach some find more user-friendly. Long term, will Apple's choice screen foster growth for alternative browsers? Early surges in downloads warrant cautious optimism. But it's too soon to call. Regulatory-wise, this marks a response to the Digital Markets Act, aimed at promoting internet competition.
