Bank On It

"The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination." - Albert Einstein

At the beginning of conducting Purposeful Creative Thinking training sessions we ask this question.

'By a show of hands, how many of you consider yourself to be creative?'

The number of hands that goes up is consistently 20% or fewer.

However, after the first session, the change in how people see themselves is dramatic!

Most folks are far more capable of thinking creatively than they believe they are. And, in the modern economy, that skill is one which all who thrive will possess.

As you might imagine, internally we use the same methods of Purposeful Creative Thinking that we teach to continuously innovate our own approaches and offerings.

It's how we developed the idea of using our platform to offer the products, services and training of a multitude of companies in order to connect micro, small and mid-sized businesses with everything they need to thrive in the modern economy. (see info near the end for more)

Scan the QR code to visit our site.

It's also how we developed the notion of providing companies that sell to other companies with a superior, value-adding way to prospect.

Let me give you an example.

There are two banks who want to win business from a prospective client.

Traditional Bank

The first bank approaches the client with a flyer consisting of a menu of services the bank provides.

This flyer includes lots of facts and figures and brags about how long the bank has been in business, how many assets they have, big name clients they have, etc,

Their approach is ALL ABOUT THE BANK and how great they are.

Smart Bank

A different bank approaches the same client with an invitation to participate in a Purposeful Creative Thinking session.

They let them know that the session is designed to teach their team a skill that will help them generate ideas that will help them be more effective and efficient in all aspects of business.

As a bonus, the event facilitator will help them come up with ideas that very day that they can take action on immediately.

Their approach is ALL ABOUT THE CLIENT and helping them thrive.

***************

Which approach differentiates the bank from competitors?

Which approach do you think makes for easier prospecting?

Most importantly, which approach do you think will work better over time?

_______________

Recently, I was speaking with a connection of mine who is an officer at a regional bank about how we could work together on this to help them win and retain more clients.

To say the least, he was enthusiastic!

This unique method of serving others first and helping THEM win bigger is not limited to banks.

Many organizations who serve other businesses can benefit from this.

The same is true of the two ideas I am sharing below.

Though I developed them using the Anchor Term Bank Marketing, they can be adapted for use by other B2B companies.

Bank Marketing Ideas

Idea # 1: This idea was initiated by combining the word Authority with the Anchor Term, Bank Marketing

Host videos on the bank’s website and/or social media channels of folks who have a business account with you in which they provide expert advice.

For example:

  • Accounting updates on how new legislation affects businesses.
  • Legal ramifications of using Artificial Intelligence.
  • How to do simple plumbing, HVAC, etc. repairs yourself.
  • Best days and times to book a salon appointment.

With a diverse business account holder base, the possibilities are endless.

This will help your clients demonstrate their expertise and increase sales while simultaneously boosting the bank's image and reputation.

Idea # 2: This idea was initiated by combining the word Dictionary with the Anchor Term, Bank Marketing

Somewhat like the Dictionary dot com app does, choose a word of the day and include it in the communication you send to your email list subscribers.

In and of itself, this might be engaging. But, what might even be more engaging would be to include two words.

  • One word would be the Useful Word of the Day
  • Second word would be the Useless Word of the Day

These should come with complete definitions and examples of using them in a sentence.

Make this a two-way communication by encouraging email list subscribers to submit suggestions for Word of the Day.

Those chosen would be credited by name in the newsletter and the company they work with would get props as well.

This will increase the number of folks who actually open the newsletter and endear them to you by providing the chance for them to be semi-famous.

As mentioned above, these two ideas were developed using my Knowledge, Experience and Imagination (the KEI to better ideas) and the Purposeful Creative Thinking method, Anchor Term.

That method helps to stimulate the imaginative faculty we all have by combining random words with a chosen Anchor Term.

Try This

Below are the other random words drawn for this idea challenge from the 400 contained in the creative ideas game I invented, What's The BIG Idea?

Try combining them with an Anchor Term Bank Marketing or one of your own choosing and see what ideas occur to you.

  • Lamp
  • Ants
  • Agreement
  • Dust
  • Glass
  • Scissors
  • Lumber
  • Spark
