Bangladesh's Social Media Marketing Scene: Important Things to Remember for 2024

As of early 2024, the social media market in Bangladesh is expanding. In January 2024, 52.90 million social media user identities were active in Bangladesh, according to DataReportal. However, due to adjustments in data sources and computations, the most recent results can seem different. A 9.7 million rise in social media users is predicted by Kepios between the beginning of 2023 and the beginning of 2024. In Bangladesh, social media usage accounted for 30.4% of the total population. 52.70 million people over the age of 18, or 43.8% of the population, were using social media, according to data from the biggest social media networks.

The following are some salient points for every significant social media platforms in Bangladesh:

Facebook:

Facebook's ad reach grew by 9.7 million (+22.3%) year-over-year despite the data modifications, suggesting a possible increase in active users. A more recent reduction, which occurred between October 2023 and January 2024, indicates that additional monitoring is necessary. It's also critical to keep in mind that ad reach metrics do not always translate into monthly active users.

YouTube:?

Reaching 19.3% of Bangladeshi people, YouTube continues to be a major factor with 33.6 million users. It's interesting to note that YouTube's ad reach remained constant between October 2023 and January 2024 despite experiencing a small annual reduction (-2.3%).?

Instagram:?

Despite having a lesser user base of 6.5 million, Instagram has shown remarkable annual growth of +46.1%. Nonetheless, a slight decline (-0.8%) was noted from October 2023 to January 2024, underscoring the fluidity of social media consumption.

TikTok:?

ByteDance's advertising tools only offer data on users who are 18 years of age or over (37.36 million), however, TikTok has an impressive ad reach of 31.1% of adult Bangladeshis. It's important to understand that changes in the user base may not always be reflected in trends in the ad audience.

Facebook Messenger:?

In Bangladesh, Messenger has 28.3 million users, or 16.3% of the total population. Because of Meta's recent reporting changes, Messenger's ad reach data should be taken cautiously, much as Facebook's.

LinkedIn:?

8.0 million people utilize LinkedIn in Bangladesh, accounting for 4.6% of the country's total population. It's crucial to remember that LinkedIn bases its statistics on the overall number of registered users rather than the number of active users each month, which makes it difficult to draw direct comparisons with other platforms.

Going forward, maintaining current knowledge of platform-specific data modifications and their influence on user expansion is essential for social media marketing tactics to be successful in Bangladesh.
