Bangladesh A Case Study!!!

Bangladesh A Case Study!!!

Watch out for the country Bangladesh in the coming decade. A population of 157 Million people with a GDP of 150 Billion USD. The per capita GDP stands at 957 USD.

The intrinsic strength of the country lies in the Government debt to GDP ratio of only 18%. The growth rate of the country is quite robust at 6.2%.. The interesting part is the population growth is 1.6% but the migrating population annually is 2.8% of the total population. Most of the population migrates to Oil Rich Nations of Middle East, India,US,Canada and UK.

The remittances to the country is at whopping .150 Billion which is 9-10% of the GDP and it is growing exponentially. With the remittances growth the per capita GDP will catch up the per capita GDP of India in the next decade.

Once among the poorest of nation it will soon have the comparable per capita GDP of India. Barring the natural calamities which has ravaged the country from time to time it will reap huge dividend from it migrating population. As these migrating population acquire education and prosperity in the migrating nations, Bangladesh can be the Rising Star in the World Economic Charts in the coming Decade.

Its other main GDP contributors are agriculture and low cost manufacturing facilities for all the big brands of US and EU.

A strong ally of the US and India, it has the potential to become the second B in BRICS countries. If investment flow increases and country is able to build up infrastructure fast then Bangladesh could be the cynosure of the World in coming decade.
