If you’re going to be in Bangkok September 7 – 10 then be sure to check out the inaugural exhibition of the Bangkok Art Book Fair, and even better, stop by the inpages booth and say hi to Dang Thanh Long. He’s the owner of inpages here in Saigon, an independent publisher and art bookstore. He’s brought books with him from the Saigon Artbook series and AJAR Press. Not only will Long be showcasing some of Vietnam’s growing art talent such as mixed media artist and bookmaker Qu?nh Lam and conceptual artist Phan Thao Nguyen, but he’s also selling copies of my new book Vietnam Salmagundi. How wonderful is that? My book is a collection of writing about social issues, politics and culture in Vietnam.
The Art Book Fair is at CityCity Gallery on South Sathorn Road. There are plenty of cafés around the gallery ... grab a coffee for the hardworking Long, too!
