Bangkit 2023: 5 Ways of Adaptability

In a rapidly evolving world, the ability to adapt is essential. Change is a natural part of life in personal and professional contexts. However, we often find it challenging to deal with it and even tend to avoid it. The ability to adapt well is key to managing change successfully.

Change is inevitable. Whether it's a change in yourself, your job, or your environment, we will all experience these changes. Adaptability is the ability to adjust to change. It is an important skill to have in a changing world.

How Bangkit Helped Me Improve Adaptability Skills?

I recently had the opportunity to join the Bangkit 2023 program, a learning program led by Google, Tokopedia, Gojek, & Traveloka to prepare participants with relevant and required skills based on technical certifications. This program was a valuable experience that helped me to develop my adaptation skills in several ways.

In this first article, I will share five ways of adaptation that I experienced during the Bangkit program:

1. Ways of Interacting: Bangkit's program uses various learning methods, including courageous learning, collaborative learning, and project-based learning. I have adapted to communicate with people from all over Indonesia, with different backgrounds and cultures. Not only that, I have also adapted to communicate in English, which is the primary language used in the Bangkit program. Although English is my second language, I have improved my communication skills by practicing with friends and using online resources to enhance my understanding of English grammar and vocabulary.
2. Ways of Achieving: Bangkit's program provided the challenge and support I needed to develop my skills. When I joined Bangkit, I started setting clear goals for adaptability in achieving my clear and measurable goals and what I wanted to learn. For example, I aimed to achieve maximum marks on every assignment. I also had a long-term plan to complete the program by becoming a distinction graduate and earning a global certification. In this program, I had to learn to be flexible and adapt to changes in my schedule and priorities. I also had to learn to manage my time effectively and prioritize my tasks.
3. Ways of Learning: Bangkit's program uses various tools and resources to support my learning. Bangkit has also helped me develop adaptability in learning. I have been exposed to multiple new concepts and skills in this program. I have also had to learn how to learn independently and look for resources to help me understand new material. For example, in Android class, if I need help understanding. I decided to ask questions on discussion forums and communities. I got explanations for my problems.
4. Ways of Working: Studying at Bangkit is hectic (916 study hours), so I must manage my time effectively. I make a daily schedule for myself, and I make sure to stick to it as much as possible. It also helps to set aside specific days for studying and completing assignments to fit into Bangkit's timeline.
5. Ways of Thinking: Bangkit has also helped me to develop my adaptability in terms of thinking. I have learned soft skills such as "Critical Thinking & Problem Solving." I am challenged to think critically and creatively to solve problems creatively. I am also encouraged to be open-minded and consider different perspectives.

Overall, the Bangkit 2023 program was a valuable experience that helped me develop my adaptability. I learned to adapt to new situations, learn new skills, and embrace change. These skills will be essential to succeed in my career and life.

Adaptability is the key to success in this ever-changing world, and Bangkit 2023 has given me valuable experience to hone this adaptability skill.
