In his insightful speech, Dr. Langa presented a comprehensive overview of the current state
of the family in Uganda, emphasizing alarming statistics on issues such as gender-based
violence, orphanhood, child marriage, and the prevalence of HIV. He underscored the role of

role to play in shaping the nation's future.
Drawing an emotional analogy from Chinese history, he recounted the story of the Great

building anything else," Dr. Langa reiterated.

Quoting historical figures such as Thomas Jefferson and President Julius Nyerere, Dr.
Langa emphasized that education without values can lead to undesirable outcomes. He asserted
that cultivating VMC is essential for overcoming life's challenges, reaching one's potential, and
leaving a lasting legacy.
