The Bamboo You
Have the last 4 years felt foggy to anyone else? I was reflecting on Leap Day 2020 through my Facebook memories and pictures. I rented out a local theater and did a live training on "Creating a Memorable Life". This group of people got together to practically think about how we live intentionally. Little did I know that 2 weeks later the world would shut down and we'd have to really dig to find meaning and memories.
I've been doing a lot of deep work in myself over the last 4 years as well. It has felt like all the seasons - it's felt like death/winter, it's felt like new things being birthed, it's felt like hibernation and excavation.
Recently, I was reminded about how bamboo grows. It usually takes about 5 years for bamboo to grow, however the first 4 years it grows in minor ways and mostly underground. Then, in the fifth year is when explosive growth happens and bamboo can grow above ground up to 80 feet in a matter of 6 weeks.
This simple reminder from nature is here to tell you that there's growth and work going on in you. We know that you have been putting in the effort, working through your own life challenges, and at times it can feel like, what's the point?!
Your efforts may be a 4 month and 1 day effort and you're about to grow 80 feet in a matter of weeks. Keep consistent. Keep trying. Keep hope.
