An award winning Business Manager looking to satisfy CSR and work with local businesses and show them how to build lasting relationships in the community.
On Wednesday 23rd October, pupils from Balsall Common Primary Schools’ Eco Club were the first children to take part in a very special Eco Workshop at The Bear Grylls Experience at the NEC.
The children studied the aquarium which holds over 1,000 sea creatures in 1,000,000 litres of water, including sting rays and sharks. They had a tour of the facilities and discussed their ECO approach to keeping their animals healthy.
They learnt about the decline of Sharks, the environmental impact that coral has on our planet and the impact of plastic in our oceans. They then took part in a quiz to cement their learning and had a Q&A session with a diver in the aquarium.
The event was also supported by the Mayor of Solihull, Councillor Stewart Davies, and the President of the Solihull Chambers of Commerce, Robert Elliott.
Robert Elliott, said; “As President of Solihull Chamber of Commerce, I am actively encouraging Businesses to Engage with Education. Balsall Common Primary School have long been a fantastic example of a school working hard to give their students experiences of working within businesses and I know that their visit to the Bear Grylls Adventure will give them a great insight into how an attraction can play a lead role in promoting Solihull Borough”
Matthew Culley, Bear Grylls Experience NEC, said; ‘We were delighted to have the students from Balsall Common Primary School in our conservation talks here at The Bear Grylls Adventure and the NEC. We are dedicated to taking guests from ‘observation’ to ‘experience’, as we want to create a stronger awareness of incredible animals and their environment through our Dive and Snorkel experience at The Bear Grylls Adventure.’
Howard Rose, Sponsorship and Publicity Lead at the Central Schools Trust, said; ‘This is another perfect example of how businesses and schools can work together to bring about positive change and inspire young people.’
