Balancing Web3 Recruitment and Podcasting: My Journey with WEB3 INSIGHTS

When I first ventured into Web3 recruitment, I knew I was diving into a complex, rapidly evolving space. But it wasn’t until recently that I truly grasped the depth of this industry’s intricacies. As someone who has spent over five years sourcing top talent for the decentralized landscape, I realised that there was still so much more to learn. That’s where the idea for the WEB3 INSIGHTS podcast came from—a desire to deepen my understanding and share that journey with others.
The Spark That Ignited the Podcast
The decision to launch a podcast was initially driven by my own curiosity. Web3 is a multifaceted field, and even those deeply entrenched in it can find it challenging to stay on top of the latest trends and developments. But my real push came from an unexpected source—a negative interview experience. I was interviewing for a Web3 recruitment role when the interviewer, rather than engaging in a constructive conversation, seemed intent on belittling me. They laughed at my answers to some of their questions, mocked my ambition to start a podcast, and ultimately made me feel inadequate. I was honestly ready to drop out of the Web3 space all together!!
Instead of discouraging me, this experience lit a fire under me. I wanted to prove to myself—and to anyone else who might doubt me—that I could create something valuable and meaningful. Thus, WEB3 INSIGHTS was born, not just as a podcast, but as a platform for learning, growth, and community.
Navigating the Podcasting Waters
Starting this podcast has been a journey filled with both excitement and challenges. My background in Web3 recruitment has been invaluable; interviewing people and listening intently are skills I use daily, and they’ve translated well into the podcasting format. However, knowing that every conversation is being recorded and will be shared publicly is a whole new level of pressure. The nerves are real, but they’re also a part of what makes this experience so rewarding.
Each episode has left a lasting impression on me. Speaking with Richard Watts , CTO at Zilliqa, was a particular highlight. His depth of knowledge and general demeanor were incredibly inspiring. Another memorable moment was during our very first episode with David Dobrovitsky , CEO at FUNToken. After technical issues marred the initial recording, David graciously agreed to re-record the entire episode—a gesture that speaks volumes about the community we’re building. Episode 3 with Ian Smith was another standout; his insights into quantum computing and its implications for Web3 were truly mind-blowing.
But it hasn’t all been smooth sailing. The technical challenges, especially in the early days, were a real hurdle. Poor lighting, audio issues, and general setup problems could have derailed the project. But I learned quickly—upgrading my equipment and ensuring everything was tested thoroughly before hitting record. Consistency is key, and after some initial doubts, I’m committed to keeping this podcast going, knowing that every episode adds value to the Web3 community.
Adding Value to the Web3 Community
So, what does WEB3 INSIGHTS bring to the table? First and foremost, it’s about delivering insightful content directly from the people shaping the future of Web3. We dive deep into the challenges these organizations face, how they overcome them, and what exciting developments lie ahead. For young entrepreneurs or startup founders, these episodes offer a wealth of knowledge from seasoned professionals who have been navigating this space for years.
But there’s another angle to this podcast—my perspective as a recruiter. I aim to bring a talent acquisition edge to our discussions, offering insights into what it takes to break into or excel in the Web3 space. This is something I haven’t seen other recruiters in the industry doing, and it’s a unique value proposition that I’m proud to offer.
Building Connections Through Podcasting
The podcast has also complemented my work at Savant Recruitment Experts in ways I hadn’t anticipated. It’s opened doors to networking opportunities, allowing me to share my expertise and offer advice to both guests and the audience. The conversations I’ve had are now valuable reference points when speaking with potential talent in the market. In fact, I’ve started receiving inbound requests from people wanting to be on the podcast, which is incredibly encouraging.

Advice for Aspiring Podcasters
If you’re considering starting a podcast in the Web3 space—or any space, really—my advice is simple: Go for it! Don’t overthink it; just dive in. But do make sure you’re properly equipped. The right tools and software are crucial, and preparation is key. Research your guests and their businesses thoroughly; it will make your interviews more engaging and relevant. And most importantly, be ready to learn from your mistakes. Not everything will go perfectly, but that’s all part of the journey.
Looking Ahead: The Future of WEB3 INSIGHTS
Initially, I planned to produce just 12 episodes, releasing one a week. But the experience has been so rewarding that I’m now aiming for at least 52 episodes—a full year of content. I’m excited about the upcoming episodes and the incredible lineup of guests we have in store. I’m also exploring ways to give back to our audience, possibly through setting up a community platform, though that’s still in the planning stages.
And who knows where this journey will take us? One of my dreams is to interview some of the most influential figures in Web3. Maybe, one day, we’ll have someone like Vitalik Buterin on the show!
Personal Growth Through Podcasting
On a personal level, this podcast has given me a deeper insight into the Web3 industry and a newfound confidence in myself. Every conversation reinforces my belief in the potential of this space, and I’ve discovered that hard work and determination truly pay off. If you put your mind to something, you can achieve it.
