Balance and Posture a Problem for Older Women with Pelvic Pain

A study recently investigated balance and posture among postmenopausal women either with or without chronic pelvic pain and found that those with chronic pelvic pain performed worse on several balance tests and exhibited poorer posture, including forward head carriage, increased thoracic kyphosis, and increased lumbar lordosis. The findings suggest that clinicians should pay special attention to posture and balance when evaluating women with chronic pelvic pain so that appropriate treatments can be implemented.
