Bala Mohammed: State governments are determined to reposition the PDP.

Bala Mohammed, the governor of Bauchi State and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors' Forum, has called on party members to unite, highlighting the prevalence of rage and hunger in Nigeria.

The PDP governors emphasised the rising cost of food and the notable increase in kidnapping instances and other crimes.

On Tuesday, they declared that Nigeria, with the APC-led Federal Government, led by President Bola Tinubu, is becoming a lot like Venezuela.

The PDP Governors' Forum Chairman underlined that there is no place for discord inside the main opposition party during the party's 76th Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday at Wadata Plaza in Abuja. To save Nigerians from suffering, he called on party officials to strategically advance the party's agenda. To save Nigerians from suffering, he called on party officials to strategically advance the party's agenda.

"We are working very hard behind the scenes," he said in clarification. The BOT chairman himself has disclosed some of the tactics. To ensure that we all win and keep this nation from devolving into a one-party state, we must act strategically.

Because of the size of the party and our wide range of interests, the governors are committed to repositioning the party and minimising the animosity and division that had previously defined the PDP. That's not a luxury we can indulge in."The nation is in trouble. In Nigeria, there's a lot of rage and hunger. We are being looked up to by the nation for the third time. We can't remain the dejected boys and girls forever. We have to pull together, extend courtesy to one another, and extend courtesy to the party. We support them despite everything because of this. For the party's different bodies, including the caucus, BOT, and National Executive Council, to be able to decide decisively on all matters for the time being. Thus, we support you. There needs to be reconciliation. Although most people occasionally hang out with their groups, now is not the time for it.

The governors are with you, and that is why I am here. We are prepared to offer Nigerians an option. We remarked yesterday that the country doesn't seem to have excellent governance. To ensure that our actions are not motivated by sentimentality at the end of the day, we shall provide a forceful opposition to the existing administration. We'll approach it with wisdom and understanding.

Adolphus Wabara, the interim chairman of the PDP BoT, said earlier in his speech that plans were underway to establish a one-party state in Nigeria."Our job as members of the Board of Trustees, the main organ of this party, is to ensure that this party does not die," said the former Senate President. Nigerian democracy would perish if the PDP collapses. It is known that plans exist to establish a one-party state in this nation, but that will only take place if we permit it. Thus, we must battle for Nigerian democracy, and the PDP is the only party capable of doing so.

Here, we adhere to democratic due process. I want to make every effort to get this party back on track, especially the NWC. It's time for us to deal with the numerous problems. When required, we ought to let go and go on; when not, we ought to take the proper measures. Some individuals accuse us of failing to take swift disciplinary action, which has always been the party's challenge. Sometimes, before acting, we consider the expressions on people's faces. However, some of us are always objective, particularly in the BoT. We should rigorously adhere to our constitution since anything that violates it will cause issues.

The PDP's acting national chairman, Umar Damagum, stated that this is the ideal moment to rebuild and realign the party. Damagum underlined that all hands need to be on deck to reposition the party while assuring that the NWC is committed to building it.

He declared, "There has never been a greater moment to start rebuilding the party than right now, with all 2023 election petitions resolved."I also want to remind our members of the Board of Directors that our party's reconstruction is not just an NWC duty. Since we are all involved, it is our collective duty to protect the party no matter where you are; you don't need to wait for the NWC to take action. Former governors of Attahiru Bafarawa, Olagunsoye Oyinlola of Osun State, Sule Lamido of Jigawa State, Ahmed Makarfi of Kaduna State, and Kabiru Turaki, a former minister of special duties and secretary of the PDP BoT, were there. Other notable figures were the National Secretary, Sam Anyanwu; the National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature; the immediate previous PDP National Secretary, Ibrahim Tsauri; and former Ministers of Police Affairs, Adamu Maina Waziri, and Foreign Affairs, Aminu Bashir Wali.
