From passion to business: Salon Vina in Montenegro

We know many of you are wine lovers, so we decided to bring you a special story today about Salon Vina (Wine Room) established by Bojana Minic and Dragutin Konti? .?Bojana's interest and passion for wine came from her family, especially her father who always had a passion for wine and explained to her wine labels and its origin. But over time, hobby and passion have turned into real business.?

Wine Room is a project dedicated to the promotion of local wines and wine culture in Montenegro. Additional inspiration to establish Wine Room, came from the success of the Podgorica Wine Salon (a one-day tasting event) which was visited by over 600 people. Wine Room isn't just a tasting area, but also a tourist attraction and gathering place for wine enthusiasts. Wine Room does not only organize tasting tours, but also themed evenings - like an evening with a local winery, education sessions about wine and workshops with food and wine pairing. Wine Room isn't so large and accommodates only 10 people.?This makes the whole experience unique and intimate. We were also guests at Wine Room, so we can confirm this! They offer more than 130 variety of wines and guests show special interest in red wines, especially those that could only be tasted in this cozy and small wine salon.?

From the perspective of a entrepreneur in Montenegro the biggest challenge in the development of a business was establishing cooperation with competent institutions and a lack of financial support and incentives, having this in mind that that Wine Room isn't just an idea that is exclusively for profit but also social.

In order to support local winemakers, Wine Room organises evenings with wineries called 'Wine Talks“, and an open event "Podgorica Wine Salon" twice a year and launched the first Montenegrin magazine about wine and wine culture called "Wine Salon Magazine". Wine Room isn't just important for winemakers, but also for the capital city where it is located and competent institutions that want to contribute to the wine sector. They have aims to expand the assortment and to keep continuous involvement in the processes of improving the wine sector and wine culture in the country. This year, in spring and in autumn they will organize an open event 'Podgorica Wine Salon“ and many other wine events. Follow @Salon Vina to not miss out on these events!

New investments on the coast of Albania are creating what is described as the new "Monaco", which is a good adjective for the biggest port on the Adriatic Sea and luxury development. This is definitely something that you should consider visiting in the future! The new commercial port will be built in Porto Romano and will represent a strategic hub for trade in the Western Balkans. The capacity of the new port will be tripled compared to the existing port and the plan is to connect the port with the regional centers of other countries: Pristina, Belgrade, Nis and Skopje by building a railway infrastructure. The settlement will contain 12,000 luxury houses, eight hotels and a marina for ships and yachts. The whole project will be built by Eagle Hills from the United Arab Emirates, who are also involved in the Belgrade Waterfront Project.
