‘Bajrang Bali ki jai’: AAP after Arvind Kejriwal gets insulin in Tihar Jail after sugar levels touch 320

In recent developments, the ongoing clash between AAP and Tihar jail authorities has taken a dramatic turn as Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was administered insulin on Monday evening as per AIIMS doctors' advice. This development comes amidst a contentious debate over Kejriwal's medical care during his detention.

According to PTI reports citing Tihar officials, CM Kejriwal's insulin administration was initiated on Monday evening following recommendations from AIIMS doctors. This move follows Kejriwal's persistent demands for insulin, citing alarming spikes in his blood sugar levels, which reportedly soared to 320.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) took to social media, expressing relief over the decision, attributing it to the combined efforts of supporters and divine blessings. However, the journey to this point has been fraught with accusations and legal battles.

Kejriwal had earlier accused the jail administration of issuing misleading statements about his diabetic condition under political pressure. He claimed to have repeatedly requested insulin, highlighting a significant disparity between his prescribed diet and the food provided in jail.

The situation escalated as a city court intervened, instructing AIIMS to form a medical board to assess Kejriwal's health and determine the necessity of insulin. This directive, coming after 22 days of legal tussles, underscores the challenges faced by Kejriwal in accessing proper medical care.

Despite the court's intervention, Kejriwal's plea for daily video consultations and immediate insulin administration was denied. Instead, the court emphasized the jail's responsibility in ensuring comprehensive medical treatment while consulting AIIMS for specialized needs.

Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj reiterated the urgency of Kejriwal's insulin requirement, citing prolonged high sugar levels. Kejriwal's health ordeal began with his arrest by the ED in March, linked to a money-laundering case related to Delhi's excise policy.

Looking ahead, the Delhi High Court is set to hear Kejriwal's petition challenging the ED summonses on May 15, adding another layer of complexity to his ongoing legal and health battles.

This unfolding saga highlights the intersection of politics, healthcare, and legal intricacies, underscoring the challenges faced by public figures even in matters as fundamental as access to proper medical treatment.
