Bajaj Freedom 125”: World's First CNG Motorcycle

The Bajaj Freedom 125, the world's first CNG motorbike, was recently unveiled by Bajaj Auto Ltd . This motorbike, according to the manufacturer, costs about 50% less to operate than a comparable petrol-only model. The Bajaj Freedom 125 can run on both petrol and CNG due?to its two fuel tanks.

The 124.58cc engine of the Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG bike produces 9.7Nm of peak torque and 9.5PS of maximum power. A 5-speed gearbox is linked to the engine. In the CNG mode, Bajaj claims a mileage of 102 km/kg, and in the petrol mode, 65 km/l. Thus, the total range when?the petrol and CNG tanks are full is 334 kilometers.

Unlike CNG-powered cars, which begin in petrol mode and then transition to CNG mode, the Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG bike starts in CNG mode. The riders have the option to convert to petrol mode if the CNG tank runs out.

The?Freedom 125 CNG bike has a genuine commuter-style design with a touch of youthfulness and compact dimensions throughout, from spy shots to the final version. It is a 125cc motorcycle with a textbook build and straightforward style that includes features like an upright rider triangle, a long single-piece seat, and a circular headlamp (bulb for the base model and LED for the top-spec?and mid-model).

The Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG has a link-monoshock system at the back and a telescopic front suspension system based on a trellis frame. With tubeless tires, the front wheels have an alloy of 17 inches, while the back wheels have a 16-inch alloy. The front brake is a 240mm disc brake, while the rear brake is a 130mm drum brake.

The NG04 Drum, NG04 Drum LED, and NG04 Disc LED are the Bajaj Freedom 125 variants. Gujarat and Maharashtra are currently the only states where the Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG bike is available. Next quarter, it will be gradually introduced to other regions of the nation.
