Bahrain remains committed to boost entrepreneurism culture; sustainable development, says Chairman BCCI
MANAMA: Mahmood Rafique, Editor: The Kingdom of Bahrain's commitment in fostering entrepreneurship is second to none with government initiatives, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions all contributing to an ecosystem that nurtures entrepreneurial success.
Sameer Abdulla Nass, Chairman of Bahrain Chamber of Commerce, and Industry (BCCI) told the august audience of World Entrepreneurs Investment Forum 2024 opened on Tuesday titled ‘Achieving the SDGs through Fostering Innovation and Economic Growth.’

Under the patronage of HRH Prince Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, and Prime Minister, the WEIF 2024 is being held at Gulf Hotel from May 14 to 16, concurrently with the Arab Leaders Summit 2024, building on the successes of the WEIF in 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022.

The WEIF is facilitated by the General Secretariat at the UNIDO Investment and Technology Promotion Office in the Kingdom of Bahrain in partnerships with the League of Arab States, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce in Bahrain, the Union of Chambers of Commerce, the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa, the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and a number of local, regional and international partners.

The Chairman BCCI applauded the efforts to organize a global investment forum in Bahrain which can be pivotal in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals through fostering innovation and economic growth, amidst an elite presence of officials, experts, entrepreneurs, and investors from the Arab World and Africa.
“Hosting this forum reflects our deep appreciation for the contributions of entrepreneurs and addressing pressing issues, seeking solutions, and fostering capacity-building and knowledge sharing.

In fact, he added, Arab entrepreneurs have historically been instrumental in driving innovation and economic development, and hence the importance of holding such gathering, which serves as a platform for them to showcase their groundbreaking ideas, forge connections with investors, and actively contribute to the journey of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
He reiterated on the importance for hosting this event in Bahrain. “Bahrain has always succeeded in hosting major events and functions of various nature.? I also extend my thanks and appreciation to the General Secretariat at the UNIDO Investment and Technology Promotion Office in Bahrain, and all our partners for making this event possible,” he said.
