THE BAHAMAS TRADITIONAL RAKE ' SCRAPE

We salute you Dodger (Goatskin drum), Frank (Accordion) and Lynden (Saw) and honour you as pole bearers of a musical tradition passed down from our enslaved African ancestors.

You learned by observing, remembering and doing. There was no formal instruction to help you become the accomplished musicians you became with time.

We are grateful for your active participation in the cat Island Accordion & French project to revive the accordion by passing it on to a younger generation. The jam sessions they had with you were out of this world.

The Bahamas Accordion website was constructed to keep your legacy alive.
