Badger

Black and white

Foraging by night

Strong claws and arms that get the jobs done 

A digger by birthright who enjoys the warmth of the setting sun

A lover of hedgehogs and worms 

Deep in his den with his family clan 

Enjoying all things that squirm

Protective and free

Loyal and true

Wise and humble too

The Badger 

Nurturing his new cub

Showing him leading ways 

Teaching him the right way - through play

Until mum comes along to feed the new cub 

With an abundance of cuddles and love

Down in the den -deep in the dark there's a little one enjoying the light

Up above and outside the rain starts to fall and the wind howls right through the night 

Below in the den it is warm and dry an overall cosy place to be

You can hear the harmony of the trees as the branches twist and the leaves dance with the breeze

Echoes entering from outside

Whilst everyone else is safely snuggled- hidden deep within

The little one dreams of leaving the den

And having great adventures outdoors

He has a cute little face with a winning smile 

You can see why his mother adores

Lost in his dreams enjoying the scenes - he snores deep within his sleep 

The wonder and appeal of what secrets are real and where his imagination will roam 

Adventures with his neighbour the fox cub who is one of his pals -close to home

His father his Knight -protector of the clan

And a hero for this little one

He grants him the power to do the things he loves - and to get them done

Someone he can aspire to be 

Whilst living wild and free

For now though - he can safely dream away 

Preparing for his own destined page 

Ready!

For when it's his turn -to take centre stage xx
