Bad is Good & Why Saints Will Never Rule the World

Bad is Good & Why Saints Will Never Rule the World

Forget the unnatural political correctness. People, that include you, love the hint of danger. You are provoked and stirred by it. It awakens you. And you love it. Life is dull and you want to break the dreary routines. You want to love the bad.

To attract others is a magnificent combination of art and science. There are rules that make sense and others, - not so.

“Saintliness alarms us. It makes us feel uneasy and we want to find the balancing act.”

-Max Noble

We humans are exactly what we are. Humans with all the vices and faults we have collected through our journey called life. You are a product of your life and you are bad, like are good as well. There is nothing more unnatural than people who appear complete saints. We know that Saints do not exists in real life. Saints and their pureness are creation of our imagination because we need Saints to glorify acts or personas. To put them on pedestal. People, real life humans with their vices do not make Saints. Religions knows this and that is why Saints are first created after the human stops from existing. As we know, Saints were humans in life before they were glorified. Now that the person is not in vigor, the followers are free to construct the perfect image. Only fools believe in perfection. Perfection is not human. There is no perfection. Even the Saints lived their real lives with both Ying and Yang. Good and Bad.

“To attract others. To make them interested. To convince anyone, you cannot rely on your goodness only. Temptation is the key.”

-Max Noble

You have both sides of the Ying and Yang. It is the law of nature. If someone appears to be a pure Saint, we know that it is not the full truth. Saintliness alarms us. It makes us feel uneasy and we want to find the balancing act. The small vice. The eaten forbidden fruit.

Accept this: You are never attracted to pure goodness as much to something that has complex appearance, maybe event slightly sinister. Pure goodness is boring. That’s why James Bond has a drinking problem. That’s why Trump won the election. That’s why the women who make men wild, are not the saintliest ones. The forbidden fruit is essential part of our human lives and we adore it. We obsess it. We want it. And we give in and have a bite of it. And it tastes so good. The fruit is a human construction. Imagination. A limitation and a rule that we need to understand the world around us. But that’s all. We all break rules every day. Have you crossed a street when there is a red light and no cars nearby? Or eaten one more chocolate?

To attract others. To make them interested. To convince anyone, you cannot rely on your goodness only. Yes, you can appear as a Saint, but to perfect the persuasion, you need to accept that there are no living Saints. Temptation is the key. People are not perfect, nor are you and the strongest understand the power of temptation and makes use of it. It is the element that people do not be forced towards. People yield towards it. People enjoy being tempted. And they love to give in, because there is nothing more pleasurable than finally getting the thing they have been obsessed about.

Truth of First Impression. When First Impression happens, you need to be in charge of it. You most certainly don’t want to appear boring. Forgotten and ignored. You want others want you. You want them to be intrigued, charmed and enchanted. To do that, you need to accept the fact that a bore will never be as good as someone who creates excitement. The one who grabs your attention will always win over a dull, no matter how good they are. You need to hint something dangerous, forbidden, problematic even slightly threatening. Do it with lightness of touch. This hint of danger should make you interesting. You want people to stay with you, to be mesmerized by your complex, human persona in all of its glory. The good and bad live in you in balance. Be the balancing act to others. Be the temptation.

Final Note. Do not overplay this side of you when creating first impression. You don’t want to scare off people. You want their full attention, not run or fight reaction. The ideal good-evil balance is depended on you, but during the First Impression it must be an act of balance. Use both of your Ying and Yang. You are a true human being acting in balance, accepting both the good and bad. There is a harmony after all. You are just a human after all.

My name is Max Noble and I am authoring a book titled “The Laws of First Impression – How to Master the Power of First Impressions”, which this article will be part of.
