Backstage Pass - August

Welcome back to Backstage Pass!

Our yearly fundraiser Music In The House returned this month, with Aussie music legends Powderfinger honoured with our Excellence in the Community Award. It was a joy to celebrate the impact that this incredible band has had on the industry - and the community - with so many wonderful music industry colleagues.

We also ran our first Money Moves - Financial Wellbeing Webinar with our Wellbeing Content and Programs Lead/Psychologist Dr Ash King. This well-attended session accompanied the launch of our Money Moves program, which aims to provide music workers with easily digestible, money management and financial wellbeing information.

As always, thank you so much for your ongoing support.

Best wishes,

Clive Miller

CEO

We’d like to share with you a testimonial from someone who has recently received a Crisis Relief Grant.?

"As a professional working musician, the care and financial support I received from Support Act in a desperate time of need was incredible!?

“I was two songs in at a solo acoustic live performance, when I experienced an agonising pain shoot down my left leg. The pain was so intense I had to be taken straight to hospital, where they diagnosed me with a severely herniated disc in my lower back. The damage caused complete loss of feeling down my left leg and I was unable to walk or lift anything for 6 weeks.

“Stressed about everyday living expenses, mortgage payments and trying to feed my family as a single parent, I reached out to 'Support Act' for help. They were amazing!! They very quickly assessed my case and agreed to meet my mortgage payment and utility bills while I recovered.

“I am now back playing regular weekly shows and will always be super grateful to the awesome people at 'Support Act' for all they did to help me. Thanks guys!"
