Backing Up to S3 with Veritas NetBackup 7.7 Test Drive

Whether you are exploring public cloud storage services for offsite protection or as an alternative to tape, NetBackup 7.7 introduces a new cloud connector designed around the Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) protocol that will enable connections not just to Amazon Web Services (AWS), but potentially any S3-compatible cloud storage service.
This connector will allow you to back up data directly from your on premise environment directly to S3 or to back up your data to local disk to meet more demanding recover SLAs and duplicating the back images to S3 for longer retention and to meet off site requirements. These same options are available for workloads that exist in EC2. This test drive uses the S3 connector.
