Slowly everybody is getting back to work after the holiday session. Kids go back to school and projects start to ramp up again. This is a great moment to review your LinkedIn efforts and get back into your routine after the summer.
It was hard to miss but maybe you switched off completely and you didn't notice LinkedIn added a ton of new features! Features for your profile, pages, and advertising campaigns. One thing is clear, LinkedIn didn't take a break during this summer!
LinkedIn Profiles, the rise of LinkedIn influencer marketing & save your searches
LinkedIn is rolling out a feature to show brand partnerships. When members are being paid to post content they can now use this feature to show the collaboration. This means more transparency and more opportunities for great partnerships between creators and companies. Although it will be difficult for LinkedIn to track whether the feature is being used this is a great first step to implement LinkedIn influencer marketing.
Another new feature is the possibility to save specific searches. When you search in the search bar a bell shows up. When you click on the bell you get the option to get notified when new content matches your search criteria. You receive a notification on LinkedIn and in your email inbox.
LinkedIn thought leadership ads for (solo) entrepreneurs
The fact that thought leadership ads work for businesses was hard to miss. Almost all campaigns I've seen showed very positive results. It made me wonder what the value of thought leadership ads are for (solo) entrepreneurs so I've set up a campaign for my own business and this is what happened:
The investment for this campaign was only 150 euros. The campaign will continue to run to increase unique reach and frequency. My target audience is small and local. Audience size has a big impact on the investment needed. Thought leadership ads are only available for the objectives brand awareness and engagement. Success should be measured on KPIs linked to these objectives. But some results such as CTR are so amazing I had to share them!
Would I recommend thought leadership ads for (solo) entrepreneurs? YES! It will increase your brand awareness with new audiences and it is a great way to get value for your investment.

LinkedIn page, hello new admin navigation, and a reminder to start posting again
During the summer LinkedIn refreshed the navigation of the LinkedIn page. Everything can be found on the left side now. Which is very similar to LinkedIn campaign managers' navigation.
This new navigation layout is a great reminder to start posting again from your LinkedIn page. Keep in mind that a clear content strategy helps to build brand awareness, community, and lead generation, and to attract talent. Don't make your page a place to dump content, be careful with how you position your business on LinkedIn!
