Back to VC: why I’m joining NXTP Ventures

As I complete an amazing 3.5Y cycle at Bcredi & Igah Ventures (fka eBricks), I couldn’t be more grateful to be the first Brazilian joining NXTP Ventures, one of the oldest and most active VC firms in Latin America.

Completing a full-investment cycle at Bcredi – investing, monitoring, deep-diving into operations, and exiting – was truly fulfilling and taught me so many important lessons (will save some info for another post).

Meeting NXTP in late 2020 was a fluke. I’m delighted to join NXTP for multiple reasons, inc:

Track-record

NXTP has +US$100M AuM and has invested in +100 technology startups throughout Latin America, which combined have raised US$1Bn in additional capital. Some portco:

B2B focus

NXTP only invests in B2B startups in Seed and Series A stages. Having built a B2B vertical from scratch (at Bcredi) and invested in four B2B startups (through Igah/ eBricks), this was a key factor for me. Looking forward, the Brazilian VC landscape will lean towards specialization rather than a broad & agnostic approach (IMO).

Team

NXTP claims to be a founder-first VC firm, but it’s also team-first. It has a multi-disciplinary and complementary team inc. serial-entrepreneurs, acknowledged investors, and young talents. Tks Alex, Ariel, Gonzalo, Darly, Santos, and Marta.

Presence in Brazil
