Back Together

Supporting strong business growth with dedicated business development and marketing support services
What a different world we are in today. Just a few weeks ago I was planning for Hunts Coaches day excursion brochure launch. Scheduling events and making announcements of what was coming up for days out with family and friends in 2020. We are now social distancing and in some cases to self-isolating to protect those very people.
The title of this writeup is very poignant with how we are probably all feeling, that we would like to be back together. It wasn’t intended in that way and is actually the title of the Ball and Boe Tour I went to see with my nearest and dearest at the Nottingham Arena.
The Motorpoint arena in February had a packed house and equally packed array of songs. Michael Ball and Alfie Boe met when co-staring in a production of the musical Kismet in London and now have their 3rd Album together.
The concert had a real theme around being kind and the need for everyone to help others and notice when people need support. A theme that couldn’t have more truth at this time. Framed by uplifting back-to-back hits from The Lion King stage show and a thumping Queen mashup. Shaun Escoffery who performed in the Lion King opened for the duo and joined them to sing ‘He Lives in You’. He had a smooth soulful tone. I certainly won’t forget this concert, it’s unfortunate that some of the reason is because of group venues closing shortly after.
On stage you could feel the bond between the performers and at times real humour. Naturally the show wouldn’t have been complete without a section devoted to Les Misérables and the encore after rapturous applause was a selection from Greece.
As I wrote these words, I realised that for many of us it is an extremely difficult, unsettling and sad time. We don’t know how long this Covid-19 pandemic will continue to impact on our lives. I think about all the industries and business working to find their way through this and I truly hope that they can make it, come out stronger and we can all be back together again.
I sign off wishing you well and hope that you keep well, and as happy as possible, during this extraordinary situation. I will be listening to uplifting music, making plans for the future and of course being kind.
