We Have Moved!

We are excited to announce that half Helen has officially moved to a brand new office! While we’re still located in the same business park, our new space has doubled our footprint, allowing us to enhance our services and better serve the community. With?a larger, more modern facility, we’re now equipped to provide an even higher level of care to our patients.?

But the improvements don’t stop there! This new space also means a more comfortable and welcoming environment for everyone who walks through our doors. From a revamped reception area to a stylish optical section with an expanded selection of frames, we’re committed to ensuring that every visit is a positive experience.

Exciting News—Partnering with Warby Parker!

As the new school year approaches, it’s the perfect time to ensure your child is ready to see the world clearly. Good vision is essential for success in the classroom, and at half Helen, we’re here to help your child start the year on the right foot.

Did you know that 80% of learning is visual? If your child is having trouble seeing the board, reading textbooks, or staying focused on assignments, it can greatly impact their education. hH is offering $100,000 in vision care services to ensure that all children can see their world clearly through two key partnerships!

First, we are excited to share that qualifying children*?will have access to a free eye exam thanks to a recent $50,000 gift from the?Harry E. & Eda L. Montandon Charitable Trust. Following their eye exam, children in need of eyeglasses will receive a pair through our new partnership with Warby Parker!?Through Warby?Parker's, Pupils Project, half Helen has now doubled our selection of children’s frames, enabling us to provide 2,000 students with stylish, high-quality glasses at no cost to their families this school year. half Helen will be sharing more information with school nurses later this month on how students can access an eye exam and Warby Parker glasses!?

Warby Parker's Pupils Project is committed to breaking down barriers to vision care by collaborating with organizations like half Helen to provide free prescription glasses for uninsured children. For many children, clear vision can be transformative, helping them excel in the classroom and beyond. Thanks to Warby Parker’s support, we’re now able to offer over 100 new children’s frames, all designed with comfort, confidence, and style in mind.

To date, the Pupils Project has distributed 227,000 pairs of glasses to students nationwide. hH is excited to partner with Warby Parker to bring this incredible opportunity to Central Texas. Let’s make this school year the best one yet by ensuring children have the clear vision they need to thrive.?

Happy Anniversary Dr. Ahmad!

Join us in celebrating the one year work anniversary of Dr. Mutahir Ahmad! One of half Helen's biggest blessings is having Dr. Ahmad on our team. Since his arrival last August, half Helen has expanded its mobile program and developed a brick and mortar?clinic, then expanded it! As our adult patients?presented with more serious vision issues and other medical complications, Dr. Ahmad advocated for half Helen to invest in better imaging and diagnostic equipment along with a stronger referral pathway.

Together, Dr. Ahmad and half Helen are redefining vision care for Central Texans in poverty.? "Dr. Ahmad is completely aligned with hH's mission to create a vision care home for those who are unable to afford vision care. half Helen and his patients are fortunate to have him leading the care team," Chelsea Elliott, Executive Director.
