Back to School with AI: Level Up Your Learning! ??

If it’s Wednesday, it’s Wilkinson Wire!?As the back-to-school season kicks off, I’m excited to share how AI is revolutionizing the way we learn, think, and build the future together.?For me, as I head back into the classroom at Stanford University Graduate School of Business , AI helps me stay on top of the latest research and delivers personalized learning experiences that resonate with each student's unique journey. But it doesn’t stop there—AI is reshaping how we all engage with the world, pushing us to rethink not just how we learn, but how we work and innovate.?

So, as we gear up for a new season of learning and growth, here are some of my favorite tips and tricks to harness AI for smarter, more impactful learning—and to propel your day-to-day ventures forward!

Ready to learn? Let’s do this!

Supercharge Learning with AI-Powered Tools

Want to sharpen your understanding of a topic or lesson? ?Ask AI to personalize the lesson to your needs. Using Tutor AI, you can input your desired subject and receive personalized learning modules. Through AI advancements, students’ programs are customized to their strengths, learning preferences, and personal pace. Don’t let your learning be confined to a traditional classroom. Explore anything from programming tasks to how to be happier tailored for?you.

Test yourself! Using your teacher’s (or work colleague’s) PowerPoint slides, ClassPoint AI will generate quiz questions to help you master the concept. For teachers, it helps deliver classroom-wide interactive quizzes through PowerPoint as well as produces analytics and runs live feedback and Q&A sessions that allow students to upvote questions.

Study strategically with automated quizzes and flashcards. Save on writing out tedious notecards.?Yippity is an AI tool that allows you to easily upload websites and notes into true-false, fill-in-the-blank, and multiple-choice quizzes and auto-generated flashcards. ?

Make summaries work for you. Summaries with key points are powerful tools for distilling and retaining knowledge. With Summarize.tech, you can copy the URL link of a Youtube video to get a gist of the content and add your notes–short cutting the need to watch or re-watch a whole lengthy video.

Remember, life-long learners win in the age of AI! ?I encourage you to use AI as your classmate, tutor, and even teacher to help accelerate your learning. We must all sharpen our pencils, boot up our computers, put on our thinking caps, and jump into this fall with a mindset eager to tap into the power of AI. ?I hope that you enjoy the adventure and please let me know what tools and techniques work for you!

Tip of the Week

Every week, I will include an exercise so that you can practice the skills explored in the newsletter. Using your favorite chatbot, practice the skills to be a life-long learner:

  1. Ask your chatbot to explain a difficult topic to you as if you were a 5-year-old. When we have a concept explained in basic terms, we begin to understand the basic building blocks of the argument, identify knowledge gaps, and get to the heart of the matter.
  2. Ask your chatbot to create a SWOT Analysis. Choose a company and have the chatbot evaluate its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
  3. Debate with your chatbot. Give it a topic and what side you are on. Then ask it to debate with you so that you can realize the counterpoints to your argument.

Prompts (for copy and paste):

  1. Can you explain quantum physics to me as if I were a 5-year-old? I want to understand the basic building blocks of the concept.
  2. Can you create a SWOT analysis of?Nvidia? Please outline the company's?strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
  3. I want to debate about whether artificial intelligence will create more jobs than it eliminates. I believe that AI will create more jobs. Can you argue against me so I can better understand the counterpoints?

Stay curious, keep experimenting, and let's embrace this season of learning together!
