Back in the Saddle Again

Back in the Saddle Again

After a busy holiday season, followed by an extended vacation in Chile, I’m back!

My husband & I spent a few weeks hiking in the Lakes & Volcanos region and in Patagonia. That’s where this picture was taken. You can see the Andes Mountains and glaciers behind us.

Having been off the grid for most of the time, it was a bit of a culture shock to return to all the political news. With the country so divided right now, I wanted to share some resources that can be helpful during these turbulent times.

Braver Angels: Depolarize Yourself First

Too often, we stereotype, dismiss, or ridicule our fellow citizens who support the other political party, its leaders, and its policies. Yet if we can’t talk to each other, we’ll never be able. That’s what Braver Angels challenges us to do.

Check out (and register for) this online workshop being held on February 15 at 2pm ET. It’s free, but contributions are accepted.

Dignity Index

Polarization doesn’t even come from our disagreements. It comes from treating each other with contempt when we disagree. There are so many other options that can ease the division, prevent violence, and solve the problems we face.

Check out the Dignity Index, videos and resource page. And then, think about how you can use them.

Exploring diverse perspectives is key to bridging divides and fostering positive change. What resource has inspired you the most in tackling polarization?

I am happy I found you and your content. I wish I had learnt about you before. Thanks to Co-pilot, who suggested your name as a top reference in Sales, here I am! Congrats! I have been slowly working my network of friends and colleagues to study more politics, and to show more empathy for other human beings who do not share the same political ideas. Brazil is navigating this polarizing waters, and I start to see this in Canada after the turmoil from the past weeks. Sad to see, but a challenge we all need to commit to face.
