Back of the Net! - Commerce Talks Podcast is LIVE at Seamless Saudi Arabia
Once you have had all the luck and hard work needed to establish a successful B2B podcast for a client (see my blog on this earlier this week), the instinct of any good PR will be to maximise its outreach. After all, if you have an asset that well-known ecommerce and payments services experts are queuing up to be guests on, then you’d quite naturally want to see if you can help broaden its impact.
Now, we think we’ve found the perfect next step: events.
As we discussed, Sarum PR’s ecommerce client Spryker has a charismatic, but also genuine, subject matter expert at its helm, Alexander Graf. A published business bible author (The Ecommerce Book), he’s also very well-known now in the market for his very popular ‘Commerce Talks’ podcast (and associated Kassenzone series).
The clue for me is that Alex is also always looking for great guests. And now we are all back in the world, where will such luminaries be found? You guessed it—back in their natural habitat, top-flight business, and industry conferences. In this space, one of the most appealing is the great Terrapinn’s Seamless--Saudi Arabia’s “biggest, boldest and best event” covering the latest innovation in payments, fintech, retail and e-commerce.
The doors opened in Riyadh today (2-3 November), and with scheduled keynotes from the likes of the World Economic Forum, Amazon, and the European Commission (as well as major local heroes from the region’s financial services and etail sectors), we knew this could be a prime opportunity.
I am delighted to say Terrapinn saw the point at once—and Alex is the official Seamless Saudi Arabia podcasting partner LIVE at the event this week.
Both sides see this connection as adding genuine capability to Seamless both before, during and after. On our side, pre-show, we’re giving it promotion to drive visitors and online and remote engagement—and the Middle East's biggest ecommerce networking event will have confirmed coverage both live and post the expo.
What struck me about the response from the team (shout out to Terrapinn’s Jen Drury for the vision) —apart from it being awesome to secure such a great partnership in itself—was that they genuinely said to us, Wow, you've just come at the right time--we were thinking about podcasts, but we didn’t know where to start, as it’s such a specialist discipline?

Well done to them for realising that—I know how many planets need to align for a really kick-ass B2B podcast to work. So, we’re now in the midst of Seamless, building what we know will be a really powerful channel to engage visitors and the wider market before, during and after the exhibition. (See here https://saudibusinesstoday.com/terrapinn-selects-commerce-talks-as-its-official-podcast-partner-for-seamless-saudi-arabia/ for some local coverage around the partnership story)
So, this ends up as a win-win for everyone here, as:
·????????Alex gets Premiership keynote-level star guests for Commerce Talks
·????????Terrapinn gets an internationally recognised ecomm influencer raise the show’s profile even more via credible mentions on an award-winning podcast—as well as a channel to offer its speakers both here (and, touch wood) going forward as another way to add to their brand
·????????And last but not least: visitors, but also people unable to make it to the Kingdom in person, get to participate with its themes in an inclusive and engaging way.
We'll see how it all pans out of course--but early indications are really encouraging, I have to say. Personally, I think it's the start of something huge: really well-done successful podcasts being added to events to magnify all aspects of both physical event and the audio extra.
Hand me my headphones!
