Back to LinkedIn Basics

Back to LinkedIn Basics

If you know us, you know we love Linkedin! It’s a wonderful tool that generates 80% of B2B leads.

We often share our own LinkedIn strategy that combines social selling, pin-point searching and opening up conversations. We have tons of resources on how you can be proactive on Linkedin, including deep dives, step by step guides and templates. But, for today’s blog, we want to get back to basics and share some quick tips when it comes to making the most of your Profile, posts and DMs.

Here’s a quick reminder of the key components to Linkedin success:

  1. A GREAT profile
  2. Regular posts?
  3. Narrow searching to find your niche
  4. Starting conversations
  5. Engaging with your contacts’ posts

How to create a killer profile

Your profile should be a great representation of you and your business. But also, it should lead people to take your quiz!

The most important thing to remember is to be authentic and tell the story of who you are.

Show your Linkedin audience that you understand their pain points and then lead them to your quiz to do the rest.

How to create posts people love

For us, posting on LinkedIn isn’t about clogging up people’s fees with quiz spam. In fact, it’s rare that a quiz post will get any attention at all.

Instead, use LinkedIn posts as mini stories. People love stories.

If people resonate with your post, there is a good chance they will look you up and check out your profile. So let your profile do the selling, not the post.

Find your niche with Narrow Searching

Sales Navigator allows you to have much more narrowed searching, save searches and save potential contacts.

The incredible choice of filters available allows for very granular, targeted searches or ‘narrow searching’.

Making connections and starting conversations

It’s all about quality rather than quantity, especially while you are figuring out your message.

Craft your DM’s so that you are encouraging the recipient to;

  • Think to a bigger future for themselves and their business
  • Give you their opinion on something
  • Indicate that they need your services

As the conversation progresses you can begin to show them your expertise and how you can provide the solutions they need and then introduce your quiz as a way to find out more.

How to use Likes and Comments in a meaningful way

Keep an eye on what your most desirable leads are posting. Sales Navigator can help keep track.

Dedicate a time each week to look through the posts and comment and like at will.

Make sure your comments are relevant and authentic and have scope to start a conversation.

Get these bases covered and you’ll be on your way to LinkedIn ninja status in no time at all!
