Having spent more than 10 years in the world of plastics, it was a completely new direction to join the world of printing and packaging.?

I was born in Würzburg – a wonderful city with its many attractions – and returning is a nice feeling. I know the city, I knew Koenig & Bauer from the outside, but now I am working inside I feel at home with a company that has a special welcoming culture.?

Admittedly, the first six months were quite tough for me when I moved out of my comfort zone in the plastics industry to move into printing and packaging.

Here at the global headquarters of Koenig & Bauer in Würzburg, our Digital & Webfed builds the RotaJET, the world’s largest and fastest single pass inkjet digital printing press - delivering the highest performance.?

The RotaJET is a key pillar to underpin our reputation as the leader in making machinery in printing and packaging. And we work closely with major brands in developing new applications that will have worldwide appeal.

Taking packaging in the food and beverage industry as one example, today we have moved a long way from packaging’s basic functionality of product identification and protection. It offers increased connectivity and can be networked with each item given a unique, scannable code.

With digital printing an individual approach of printing in packaging is already possible today. The RotaJET with its performance brings this into an industrial level which is unrivalled in the market.

At Koenig & Bauer Digital & Webfed we continue to consolidate close working relationships with all our customers in a traditional world of newspapers right through to the technologies of digital printing.??

Our focus is the continued expansion of the market presence of the high-performance digital printing press RotaJET in packaging, décor and book printing. The fact we have continuous customer visits to the Demo Center in Würzburg, where a complete RotaJET is printing packaging solutions to live is unique and helps our customers and brands to evaluate the future.
