“A man who views the world the same at fifty as he did at twenty has wasted thirty years of his life.” Muhammad Ali
As children we make choices based on beliefs and our thinking grows. As students we make choices based on knowledge and our thinking matures. As adults we make choices based on wisdom and our thinking evolves.
Our world is dynamic, constantly changing and sometimes unpredictable. Even the wisest choice will produce negative as well as positive outcomes. Every day we have choices to make; to be safe and put energy into defending our existing thinking or we can strive to learn and evolve our thinking.
We can choose to adopt a model of life based on the perceptions of the past; or we can choose to adapt a model of life based on the perceptions of the future. Unfortunately, because of the nature of time, we cannot actually live in the past, but we can live in a future that is based on lessons learned from the past.
“It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so.” Mark Twain
