Back to the Future: Unimec Replaces a 1981 Screw Jack

Unimec was recently enlisted by one of its long-standing clients, Novastilmec S.p.A | Quality Coil Lines , a leader in designing, producing, installing, and servicing steel coil processing machines, to maintain a mechanical screw jack dating back to 1981.

This screw jack isn’t merely an ordinary item; it's one of the first models produced by Unimec during its founding year. At that time, as the company was just taking its initial steps and still defining its path, this screw jack was mounted on a leveler. Far removed from its current size, Unimec was just beginning to shape its future.

In a recent revamping of the leveler, the decision was made to replace the mechanical screw jack which, after providing 43 years of faultless service, had started to exhibit signs of wear and no longer operated with its former efficiency.

The longevity of this screw jack highlights the reliability and quality of Unimec’s products, all crafted to the high standards of Italian manufacturing and designed for durability.

Alessandro Maggioni , General Manager of Unimec and son of founder Luigi Maggioni, commented:
