Back to the Future: Self-Lacing Sneakers

Remember the scene in Back to the Future II where the sneakers lace themselves?  Well, we are there.  Nike is releasing self-lacing sneakers for the holidays.  "When you step in, your heel will hit a sensor and the system will automatically tighten," explained Beers in a statement. "Then there are two buttons on the side to tighten and loosen. You can adjust it until it's perfect."  For those of you who think this is a bit much, the sneakers will also self-adjust as you run.  I am definitely not the target market for these - I enjoy a break to tighten my laces.  I would rather have soles that self-adjust to my feet and adapt as I walk.  Maybe that's next.  Check out the video.
