Back at full strength after management buy-out

With a takeover and a positive balance sheet, Retail Projects has begun 2023 at full strength. The total retailer is leaving the COVID years behind and bracing itself for further international growth.

The COVID crisis has had a significant impact on a great many companies. According to the National Bank of Belgium, only 1 in 4 companies showed good results during this period. The Retail sector was not spared, facing many project postponements and cancellations due to budget cuts. Peter Mannaert, CEO of Retail Projects: "It was a difficult period, but our customers are still with us today. We are very grateful for their continued trust. We see the customer base growing and are more motivated than ever to go full steam ahead with new national and international projects".

Shopfitter for big and small

Managers Peter Mannaert and Thomas Kumpen are joining forces to steer the growth. Thomas: "The interior work we deliver is the result of years of experience in the sector. Over the past decade, our construction team has given shape to shops of Panos, Superdry, Pret A Manger, Australian Home Made Ice Cream, River Woods, and more. The changing retail market has also seen the emergence of some new chains looking to partner with Retail Projects for their expansion, such as the Limburg-based El Bocado."

Total furnishing is Retail Projects' specialisation, but the customer does not necessarily have to own a chain. Peter Mannaert: "We are also open to unique store concepts or individual hospitality businesses. Those who take the plunge with us can count on the timely delivery of a classy tailor-made project, which includes after-sale maintenance. We can guarantee this due to our many years of experience.
